Artistic restoration - functional and aesthetic restoration of the tooth
Artistic dental restoration is a process during which a damaged tooth is restored using composite materials that are as close as possible to the tooth's natural color, texture, and shape. This modern procedure not only restores the functionality of the teeth but also improves their aesthetic appearance and gives you a more natural smile.

Advantages of artistic restoration:
- Minimal enamel invasion – the tooth is barely filed.
- Natural appearance – the restored tooth resembles natural teeth in shape and color.
- Filling diastemas – filling the gaps between teeth.
- Instant result – the desired result in just the first visit.
- You can restore multiple teeth simultaneously in one visit.
Artistic restoration techniques:
There are two main techniques for artistic restoration:
-
Direct restoration
In this method, the composite material is applied directly to the tooth and shaped in the patient's oral cavity. The procedure is quick and ideal for correcting minor defects.2. Indirect restoration
Indirect restoration is recommended for more complex cases. In the first stage, the tooth is prepared, and a precise impression is taken. Then, an individual ceramic inlay, onlay, or crown is crafted in the laboratory. This method allows for excellent planning of shape, color, and function, ensuring a durable, high-quality result.

Stages of artistic restoration
Before starting the artistic restoration of the tooth, the dentist performs a detailed check of the patient's oral cavity for gum bleeding, swelling of the mucous membrane, and the presence of caries.
The preparatory stages for molar restoration include:
· Cleaning of caries and damaged tissues
· Creating the shape of the future restoration
· Mechanical cleaning
· Opening enamel tubules
· Isolation from saliva with a rubber dam
· Drying
Then, an artistic restoration is performed, which consists of the following stages:
· Placement of a form (matrix) for the restoration of Black’s classes II, III, and IV
· Step-by-step addition of composite material
· Curing each layer
· Removal of the matrix and wedge, additional curing of the cervical area (for classes II, III, and IV)
· Surface shaping
· Correction of form and occlusion (bite)
· Final finishing and polishing
